This video demonstrates how to customise the content on your platform's Forgot Password page, including the header text, button labels, and validation messages, by editing the contentForgotPassword feature flag in the CMS.
Guide: Editing the Forgot Password Page Text
Step 1: Access the Forgot Password Configuration (0:06 – 0:11)
- Navigate to App Configuration in the CMS (0:06).
- Click the Pages & Content box (0:09).
- Scroll down and click on the Content forgot password flag (titled contentForgotPassword) (0:10).
Step 2: Customise Main Text and Button Labels (0:12 – 0:28)
- Header Text: Edit the text that appears when the user first lands on the page in the ForgotPasswordText field (0:12).
- Reset Button: Edit the text on the primary button in the ResetButton field (e.g., changing from "Reset password" to "Reset Token") (0:13 – 0:16).
- Page Header: Edit the text that appears at the top of the modal window in the Header field (0:22 – 0:23).
- Cancel Button: Edit the text on the secondary button in the CancelButton field (e.g., changing "Cancel" to "Abort") (0:24 – 0:27).
Step 3: Customise Labels, Placeholders, and Messages (0:28 – 0:34)
- Email Label: Edit the label for the email input field (e.g., changing "Email label" to "Email address") (0:28 – 0:29).
- Success Message: Edit the Success field to update the message shown after a successful request (0:29 – 0:30).
- Validation Error: Edit the generic Invalid email address field for the error message shown when the email format is wrong (0:30 – 0:32).
Step 4: Save and Review (0:36 – 0:50)
After making your desired changes, click SAVE (0:36).
Navigate to the platform's frontend (0:38). If you view the Forgot Password page, the customised text will now be visible (0:39 – 0:50).
