Create a New Category

Guide: Creating a New Content Category This guide explains how to create and configure a new category in the CMS to group content (movies, series, and clips). Step 1: Start New Category Creation (0:01 – 0:10) - From the CMS dashboard, navigate to Categories in the left sidebar menu. - Click the + CREATE button in the top right corner of the category list (0:09). Step 2: Define Basic Category Details (0:10 – 0:21) - Title: Enter the title for the new category (e.g., "Creating a Category"). - Slug: Enter the URL-friendly Slug for the category (e.g., creating-a-category). Note: A slug is the part of a website's URL identifying a specific page. Step 3: Define Parent ID (0:22 – 0:29) - Click the magnifying glass next to the ParentId field to select a parent category (0:22). - A pop-up will appear showing existing categories. Search or scroll to find the category you want to use as the parent (e.g., the Homepage). - Click the entry to select the category (e.g., selecting start-homepage) (0:28). Step 4: Activate and Save (0:30 – 0:58) - Review and edit any optional fields, such as Description or External identifier. - Scroll down to the Is active checkbox (0:32) and ensure it is selected if the category should be publicly accessible. - Fill in any necessary Image fields in the optional section on the right. If needed, configure Widget Links at the bottom to link the category to a movie, series, episode, or an external URL (0:45 – 0:54). Click SAVE & BACK TO LIST (0:57). The new category is now created and will be visible in the category list.
